twentytwentyone, The Crafts Council & 100% Design
WOOD saw TEN work with retailer twentytwentyone in an attempt to bring a series of sustainable products to market. Originally working with an ethical toy manufacturer based in the UK, the designers produced a series of designs around the producers limited factory capabilities.
Although unsuccessful in their ultimate goal, the project illustrated the difficulties in manufacturing sustainable products in the UK at an affordable and economically viable price.
Utilising standard timber used for the production of children's building blocks, Chris designed a functional micro-metropolis, Writer's Blok.
Wood was supported by The Crafts Council and toured four venues across the UK in 2009.
