Bak Light is a piece of research into task lighting. A simple side light, when facing forward the fascia acts as a shield, with slots letting light through. The main body of light floods out of the back and bounces off surrounding surfaces. If more light is needed, the lamp can be lifted and rotated to reveal increased, diffused light for reading or similar tasks.

Constructed from a minimal amount of materials, simple to manufacture, easy to disassemble and recycle and highly functional.

Made from water jet cut, folded aluminium with nylon clips, Bak Light is currently under development to make the design conducive to digital fabrication and self-assembly.
